Day of the Dead – Cleveland, Ohio 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 11:40 am

This is one of the deepest  and more beautiful celebration in Mexico.

It has so much importance in the Mexican culture than Octavio Paz, novel price of literature 1990, dedicated one chapter on his essay “The Labyrinth of Solitude”.

Now this tradition is also here in Northeast, Ohio.

Some African American communities have been revitalizing this 19th century tradition at wedding ceremonies in the US. Among all the symbolism that this practice holds, I can, in some ways, relate it to my own practice of my ancestors’ traditions.  Take a look at the final album of these newlyweds.00-00-cover.jpg
